TacoLu, Baja Mexicana (formerly The Homestead Restaurant)

Originally, the Homestead Restaurant was located at the log-cabin style building onBeach Blvd. That business moved, and has subsequently closed down. The cabin is now occupied by a Mexican restaurant named Taco Lu.

The building was constructed in 1932, and originally served as a private dwelling and then a boarding house run by a lady named Alpha Paynter. It changed to being a restaurant in 1947.

It is reputedly haunted by the spirit of Alpha, and she has been sighted standing by the fireplace near the front door, as well as on the stairs and in the storage room.

Another female spectre has been seen, rather unnervingly, in the ladies room. Other effects include taps being turned on by themselves, as well as the toilet doors locking themselves. Lights also turn off and on, and utensils move in the kitchen.
